Mitacs has recently signed an agreement with the Ministry of Science and Technology of Ukraine to enable a new collaboration on the Globalink Research Award (GRA) program that allows Canadian institutions to host Ukrainian interns. 

 

Under the joint supervision of a home and host professor, successful senior undergraduate students, graduate students, as well as postdoctoral fellows will receive a $6,000 research award to conduct a 12- to 24-week research project.  

 

  • Deadline: Open all year 
  • Intern level: Full-time senior undergraduates, master’s and PhD students, or postdoctoral fellows 

  • Themes: All disciplines 

  • Eligible institutions: All universities in Ukraine 

  • Co-funding: No financial contribution is required from the Canadian institution 

  • Award amount: $6,000 

  • Duration: 12-24 weeks 

 

 

UPEI Application Process 

 

Review all GRA eligibility and award guidelines on the Mitacs website.  

 

Contact the Office of Research Services (researchservices@upei.ca) for the Mitacs application package. 

 

Supervisors will be required to collect signatures from the Ukranian intern and supervising professor, then submit the application documents in the Romeo Researcher Portal for UPEI approvals using the Research GRANTS Approvals Form (rev Jan 2022).  

 

Research Services will obtain institutional approval and return the signed application form to the supervisor for submission to Mitacs.
